Perfect fit and lightweight. No complaints from my 18 year old who prefers to not even wear a base layer.

Bought this on a whim after reading the writeup in The Athletic. My 9 year old son says it is far more comfortable than his prior guards. Fit (without the pad inserts) is quite thin compared to bulkier guards, but still stands up tall on the protective 'wings' on the side of the neck. So far so good, hopefully we never have to use it, but I'm glad its there nevertheless.

I bought two, one fora ten year old girl, and one for an eight year old boy. Each had the same response : " it feels good ". I like that it fits under the shoulder pads for full protection.

The Velcro strap is irritating the back of my neck. I would add a cover to the area that goes over the back of the neck. I had to put a piece of duct tape over the part hitting my neck
